About Available Light Designs

We need myths. Even in the midst of this modern world, surrounded as we are by the wonders of technology, there is still a deep part of us that craves communion with the wild places, the forests and the cliffs and the water's edge. That sees the divine in the smallest things. That celebrates the rhythm of the cycle of the seasons. That sees time as circular rather than linear.

I grew up with the woods as my school. As a child I imagined those woods as full of unseen life; every tree, every plant as a separate, sentient being. Later, I discovered mythology, and that became a framework for my imaginations. As an adult, my artwork puts me in touch with something primal, needed; it helps me remember that boy in the woods.
